Position: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Wage Range: $19.00 to $24.00 per hour (with option to increase with experience and training)
Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt

At Iris Pediatric Dentistry, we are committed to creating positive experiences for children and families, as well as for our staff!

Our clinic operates Monday through Friday, with occasional closures for General Anesthesia dental cases at Children's Hospital Colorado. We welcome applicants interested in working 3-4 days a week, with flexible scheduling options available between staff members. While scheduling flexibility is encouraged, availability on Mondays and Fridays is essential.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Educating families about oral hygiene, healthy diets and habits
Hands on coaching of children's brushing
Chairside assisting on a variety of dental treatments
Taking dental radiographs
Setting up and cleaning dental operatories
Entering clinical findings and recommendations into electronic charts (CareStack) as directed by the dentist
Sterilization and helping keep our spaces clean
Cross-training for front desk duties, including scheduling, check-out, payment collection, and insurance verification as needed
Option to assist in operating room for general anesthesia dental cases at Children’s Hospital with Dr. Murray, based on training and experience. General anesthesia cases occur 1-2 days per month.

Qualifications:
No prior dental assistant experience required – we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! Dr. Murray is more than happy to spend one on one time with you to ensure you feel able to do your job to the best of your ability
High school diploma or GED required
CPR/BLS certification required, but class can be arranged after hiring
Proof of healthcare-related vaccinations required prior to beginning work, including Hepatitis B, Annual Flu vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and COVID-19
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children or families
Passion for learning about dentistry and educating families on oral health
Positive attitude and enjoyment of sharing knowledge
