Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, particularly in pediatric dentistry, and will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our young patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children. XRAY license is a MUST!!!
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort of pediatric patients.
Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage dental documentation, including medical records
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards.
Ability to perform basic medical imaging tasks
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with children and their families.
Experience in chairside assisting and taking X-rays is essential.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
