Pediatric Dental Assistant / EFDA
Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry — Auburn, Maine
Job Type: Part-Time with Opportunity to Grow
Pay: $25–$32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry is a growing pediatric dental practice in Auburn, Maine, and we are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant or Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, efficient, positive, and genuinely enjoys working with children and families. Pediatric dental experience is preferred, but we are happy to consider an experienced dental professional who is excited about working in a pediatric environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during restorative, preventive, and emergency procedures
Prepare and turn over treatment rooms efficiently
Take dental radiographs, if appropriately licensed
Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control protocols
Review and prepare instruments and materials for procedures
Assist with patient flow and keeping the clinical schedule running on time
Help children and parents feel comfortable throughout their visits
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Assist with stocking and organization of clinical areas
Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienists, assistants, and front-office team
EFDA duties as permitted by Maine law, if applicable
What We're Looking For
Dental assisting experience preferred
EFDA certification is a plus
Maine radiology qualification/license strongly preferred
Pediatric dental experience is a plus
Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working in a busy, growing practice
Reliable and able to work well as part of a team
Kind, patient, and confident working with children
Schedule
We are currently hiring for part-time clinical coverage with the opportunity for additional days/hours as the practice continues to grow.
Availability on Thursdays, Fridays, and occasional Saturdays is especially helpful.
