Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our full-time dental team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric dentistry and possess excellent clinical skills. This role involves supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for our young patients. Experience with systems such as Dentrix and Dexis is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.

Hours: 9 AM- 6 PM with 1 Hour lunch
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Occational Mondays for Sedation Cases.

Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards
Take and develop dental X-rays and oral imaging, including 3shape scans when necessary
Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, materials, and supplies efficiently
Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology
Assist with maintaining medical records
Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety standards, including proper infection control procedures
Support the team with general dentistry tasks and other pediatric-specific treatments
General dentistry or orthodontic experience is a big plus
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a pediatric or general dentistry setting
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols
Ability to perform X-ray procedures and utilize medical imaging equipment effectively
Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry
Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and patient management skills for children of all ages
Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) preferred but not required
Excellent communication skills to educate young patients and collaborate with team members
Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Flexibility to work full-time hours in a fast-paced clinical environment
