Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-ray imaging, and oral surgeries, using advanced dental instruments and equipment.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments according to infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Coordinate with the dental reception team for patient management, appointment scheduling, and insurance processing.
Ensure a safe clinical environment by practicing aseptic technique and following healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in pediatric dentistry preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical records management.
Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools confidently.
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to children and their guardians while demonstrating patience and empathy.
Knowledge of infection control protocols specific to healthcare settings involving pediatric patients.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
