Join our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Pediatric Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive, comfortable experience for young patients and their families. Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various pediatric dentistry treatments, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared efficiently.
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance by managing dental instruments, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
Educate young patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote lifelong dental health habits.
Perform dental sterilization procedures and maintain dental equipment to ensure a sterile environment that meets infection control standards.
Support the dental receptionist with patient management software tasks, including scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation.
Requirements
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting, particularly with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental instrument processing, X-ray taking, and dental sterilization procedures.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to pediatric patients.
Familiarity with EMR systems
Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical imaging accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members in a fast-paced environment.
