Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in clinical care, sterilization, and office organization in an outpatient clinic setting. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, as well as the ability to assist with administration and various patient care tasks.
Duties
Assist dentists in providing direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and documenting patient information, chart notes, etc.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments for reuse and organizing/restocking non-reusable materials.
Take and process dental radiographs as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control protocols.
Manage patient records and documentation accurately, utilizing electronic health record systems as needed.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on diet, oral hygiene, treatment plans and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
Skills
Proficient understanding of dental terminology, techniques, and procedures to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
Strong background in medical environments, demonstrating familiarity with clinical protocols and practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure alongside attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with computers including fast typing and dental charting
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the healthcare field.
