Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, tailored to pediatric patients’ needs
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring safe and effective care
Educate young patients and their families on proper dental care practices, emphasizing preventive strategies and oral hygiene routines
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix Ascend documenting all patient interactions thoroughly
Follow infection prevention management protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control standards, to ensure a safe environment for everyone
Maintain HIPAA compliance management and patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist
Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred
Proven experience in dental office settings, particularly with pediatric patients or in general dentistry environments
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding relevant to pediatric care
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate children effectively while building trust and rapport

Position Details
Our practice consists of 2 pediatric dentists and one other hygienist. We are open 6 days a week. The opening is for Mondays 2pm-7pm, alternate Saturdays 9am-4pm and with the potential possibility of Wednesdays 2pm-7pm in the future.

Each day you will see patients for recall visits and/ or sealants. There will be one dental assistant assigned to your schedule while the scheduled dentist will perform an exam on each patient.
