Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-centered Pediatric Dentist to join our team on a part-time basis (1–2 days per week). The ideal candidate is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based oral healthcare for children while creating positive dental experiences for patients and their families. This position offers the opportunity to serve the community in a collaborative public health setting dedicated to improving children's oral health. This is a consultant/contractual position with no benefits.

Duties
Perform comprehensive oral examinations, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.

Provide preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care, including stainless steel crowns, pulp therapy, extractions, and placement of space maintainers.

Administer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, and age-appropriate behavior management techniques.

Diagnose and manage oral health conditions, dental trauma, and developmental abnormalities.

Educate patients and caregivers on oral hygiene, nutrition, preventive care, and available treatment options.

Develop treatment plans that promote long-term oral health and overall well-being.

Collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants, specialists, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control protocols, and all applicable state and federal regulations.

Foster trusting relationships with patients and families through compassionate communication and exceptional clinical care.

Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program.

Current Maryland dental license in good standing
Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
