Periodontal Dental Hygienist

Job Overview
Seeking a dedicated individual with a warm smile and welcoming personality for a part-time (2 days/week) dental hygienist role in a drama-free periodontal office setting. A positive team attitude, emphasis on customer service, and a consistent professional appearance are musts. We believe in educating our patients and improving their overall health. This hygienist should be a team player with excellent communication skills, organization, and professionalism. Opportunity to train on the PerioView endoscopic camera. Anesthesia permit is required.

Job duties include:
Proficiency with comprehensive dental and periodontal diagnostics, including caries detection, charting periodontal attachment levels, and assessment of other intra-oral tissues and structures.

Provide clear and thorough oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as post-treatment care instructions.

Provide thorough and complete supra- and sub-gingival scaling and/or root planing for patients who are periodontally compromised.

Provide a complete and thorough dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.

Proficiency with digital intra-oral x-rays, including full series, vertical bitewings, and periapicals.

Prepare treatment room for each patient and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to prescribed infection control procedures and protocols.

Complete electronic treatment notes and maintenance reports for each patient visit. Dentrix experience a plus.

Scheduling patient appointments as necessary.

Assistance with hygiene inventory supply.

Assistance with sterilization and office flow as needed.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
