Job Description
About the Opportunity
We are an established general dental practice seeking a Periodontist or Oral Surgery–trained dentist to provide specialty periodontal and oral surgical services in our practice approximately 2 days per month.
This is a flexible opportunity for a specialist who enjoys providing surgical care in a collaborative general dentistry environment. The practice will provide a steady source of internal referrals, while allowing the doctor to focus on surgical and periodontal procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform periodontal evaluations and treatment
Perform surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth (third molar) extractions
Perform routine and complex tooth extractions as appropriate
Provide periodontal surgical procedures and other procedures within the doctor's scope of training and licensure
Evaluate patients and develop appropriate treatment plans
Review treatment options, risks, benefits, and alternatives with patients
Collaborate with the general dentists regarding referrals and comprehensive treatment
Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation
Provide excellent, patient-centered surgical care
Qualifications
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Periodontics or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery specialty training
Current dental license in [State] and in good standing
Appropriate malpractice coverage
Experience performing surgical and wisdom tooth extractions
Strong clinical and communication skills
Comfortable working collaboratively within a general dental practice
