Job Description
Job Description
We are a multidisciplinary medical practice focused on solving the musculoskeletal problems behind chronic pain — the tight, restricted, overworked, and dysfunctional tissues and movement patterns that can keep people hurting for years.
Our goal isn't simply to manage symptoms. It's to identify the underlying problem, build a comprehensive treatment plan, and work with the patient until they can move more fully, function better, and get back to the life they want.
When you get to the real cause, the results can last.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who wants to practice medicine differently and join our team at OC Alliance Medical Group.
Your clinical judgment and your work with each patient directly influence what the entire team can accomplish.
You'll have the opportunity to see the full picture of a patient's condition, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and follow patients as they progress — not just treat them and send them on their way. Most pain practices are built around managing pain. We are building a practice around solving it.
You'll Thrive Here If You
Believe that understanding and treating the underlying cause of pain can change lives.
Are curious about why a patient hurts and driven to solve the problem rather than simply suppress symptoms.
Enjoy working collaboratively with other clinicians and coordinating care.
Take pride in meaningful, measurable, long-term patient outcomes.
Want to continually improve your clinical knowledge and skills.
Bring genuine warmth, energy, and compassion to every patient interaction.
Believe patients deserve to be heard, understood, and treated as whole people.
Want your work to have a visible impact on someone's ability to move, work, exercise, and live their life.
Responsibilities
Assess and understand each patient. Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate musculoskeletal health.
Order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, ultrasounds, nerve tests and MRIs
Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
Prescribe and dispense medications occasionally; Acute opioid prescribing is very rare and we do not initiate or maintain chronic opioid therapy.
Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records
Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research project
Follow practice treatment protocols and policies
Help patients understand their bodies. Educate patients about their condition, contributing factors, treatment options, and what they can do to participate in their own recovery.
Follow the patient. Monitor progress, reassess when treatment isn't working, adjust the plan, and stay engaged in the patient's recovery. We care about what happens after the visit.
Qualifications
Degree or certificate reflecting successful completion of recognized Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant education program
Must have an active California license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice
2-3 years of clinical work experience preferred.
Previous pain management and ortho experience strongly preferred.
Must be compassionate and personable
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff
Strong leadership skills, self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Exceptional active listening skills
