Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology, maintaining strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging to support comprehensive patient assessments.
Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing clinical confidentiality policies.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to infection control standards across all procedures.
Collaborate seamlessly with team members through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Qualifications
Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with proven experience in general dentistry; additional experience in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is highly desirable.
Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, dental x-ray techniques, and oral surgery support.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise along with aseptic techniques.
Ability to accurately take vital signs and operate advanced medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners.
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; capable of providing compassionate patient care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
