Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or RDAEF2 to join our dynamic dental team on a full-time or part-time basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during clinical procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities
Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
Take and develop dental X-rays ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA and infection prevention policies.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols to ensure clinical asepsis.
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental wellness.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records.
Support front desk activities by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient check-in/check-out processes.
Ensure the proper functioning of dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and other clinical tools.
Adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control standards using aseptic techniques to protect patients and staff alike.
Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures.
Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques and managing pediatric patients comfortably.
Skilled in taking X-rays (dental x-ray), medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and oral surgery support.
Familiarity with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental handpieces, curing lights, and other clinical tools effectively.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and teamwork within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA to ensure compliance with privacy laws.
Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times.
