Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, patient-focused environment where professionalism and attention to detail are highly valued. The position requires a licensed hygienist with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately in the patient’s records
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures when necessary
Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure infection control standards are upheld
Manage patient appointments efficiently, ensuring a smooth flow of daily operations
Support administrative tasks such as updating patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software
Skills
Proficiency with Dentrix or other dental practice management software
Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse patient population
Experience with dental assisting and familiarity with medical terminology
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
Previous dental office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary
Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining a professional demeanor
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Permanent
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $55.00-$60.00 per hour
