Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk of our dental clinic. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate appointment scheduling, and seamless administrative support. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of clerical and clinical tasks. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to a positive patient experience and the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment from check-in to check-out
Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software Oryx coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily operations
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing with systems like Meditech or Athenahealth
Collect payments, process medical collections, and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review and update patient medical records, ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness in EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
Facilitate patient intake by collecting medical history, updating care plans, and explaining procedures clearly
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries efficiently
Skills
Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing procedures
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and CPT/ICD coding standards for accurate documentation and billing processes
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (including 10 key typing)
Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and office management tasks
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental office management software like Oryx is advantageous
