Job Description
This position provides clinical support to Hospital Medical Services by setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.
Position Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
At least one year of medical office experience and ability to communicate well
Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
Office environment.
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, and operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.
Key Results
Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts
Maintains current patient information
Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician
Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
Maintains patient records
Insures patients are informed of changes in office policies
Scans patient paperwork/records
Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury
Consistently verifies patient insurance information
Follows scheduling instructions
Consistently verifies insurance for eligibility and precertification if need
Maintains open line of communication with all staff
Answers phones politely and within 4 rings
