Job Description

Join a Team Where Experience and Commitment Matter
At Northern Valley Eye Care, we believe a successful practice is built on a strong, dedicated team. We value professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and the relationships we build with both our patients and one another.

We are an established and growing optometric practice seeking individuals who are interested in more than simply their next position. We are looking for team members who want to build a long-term career, develop their skills, contribute to the success of the practice, and become an integral part of our team.

Our practice is busy and our work can be demanding, but we take pride in providing a professional, supportive environment where people work together to deliver excellent patient care. We believe in clear communication, mutual respect, and taking responsibility for our individual roles while supporting the team as a whole.

If you are dependable, conscientious, patient-focused, and take pride in the quality of your work, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is ready to become part of an established team and grow with us for the long term.

The front desk is the heart of a busy medical practice. Our Receptionist/Patient Coordinator is often the first person a patient sees and the person who helps keep the entire day moving.

We're looking for someone who is organized, personable, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with people.

This is a great opportunity for someone with medical office or customer service experience who is looking for a stable, professional workplace where they can become an important part of the team and grow over time.

What You'll Do
Welcome patients warmly and professionally
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
Answer and manage a multi-line phone system
Verify insurance benefits and assist patients with insurance-related questions
Collect payments and assist with billing and medical collections
Maintain accurate patient information and medical records
Communicate with patients regarding appointments, follow-up care, and other practice needs
Work closely with clinical and optical staff to keep patient flow running smoothly
Assist with administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and general office organization
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
Step in and help teammates when the day gets busy
Who We're Looking For
The right person is someone who:
Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities
Has excellent communication and customer service skills
Can remain calm and professional when the office gets busy
Is organized and detail-oriented
Enjoys interacting with patients and coworkers
Is comfortable learning new systems and processes
Can handle sensitive or difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
Works well independently but genuinely enjoys being part of a team
Is looking for a long-term position rather than a short-term stop
Previous medical receptionist, patient coordinator, or healthcare experience is highly preferred. Experience with EHR systems and insurance verification is a plus.

We are willing to train the right person who brings the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Why Northern Valley Eye Care?

We're not looking for someone to simply fill a chair at the front desk.

We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our team and build something with us over time.

We believe that where you spend 8–10 hours of your day matters. We value people who communicate, help one another, take pride in their work, and care about the experience we provide our patients.

If you're established in your career, looking for somewhere you can put down roots, and want to work with a team that values the people who make the practice run, we'd love to meet you.
