Job Description
Brighter Way Dental Center is a Phoenix-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dental center that provides affordable, comprehensive dental care, including implant dentistry and oral surgery, in a modern, patient-centered setting. The organization’s mission includes expanding access to care for veterans, unhoused individuals, survivors of domestic violence, and other underserved populations.
Position Summary
Brighter Way Dental Center is seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical hygiene skills, excellent communication and customer service abilities, and experience in an implant or surgical dental setting. This role is responsible for delivering outstanding preventive and periodontal care, supporting treatment planning, educating patients, and collaborating closely with the front office and clinical team to create a smooth, welcoming patient experience.
Responsibilities
Provide preventive and periodontal hygiene services, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing (SRP), periodontal therapy, sealants, fluoride application, and localized antimicrobial delivery
Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide when certified and appropriate
Take digital radiographs, including CBCT imaging, and perform intraoral scans using Medit.
Support treatment planning, case presentation, and patient education related to oral health, implant care, and recommended treatment
Maintain infection control and OSHA compliance standards
Greet and check in patients, helping ensure a positive and welcoming experience
Coordinate with the dental team on patient flow, scheduling needs, and appointment readiness
Document care accurately in patient records and update treatment-related information as needed
Support insurance verification, patient communication, and other administrative tasks as needed to promote efficient office operations
Qualifications
Active Dental Hygienist license required
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
3+ years of dental office experience preferred
Experience in implant dentistry, oral surgery, or a specialty dental setting preferred
Strong understanding of implant dental terminology and procedures
Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix and Dental Intel.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
Exceptional organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of insurance billing and coding procedures preferred
Preferred Skills
Local anesthesia administration
