Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our single-doctor practice. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure clinical efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of patient care. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. Duties:
Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take dental x-rays.
Manage dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards.
Record detailed documentation, update electronic health records using Open Dental.
Work well with others in the office and support them when needed.
Order and stock back office supplies, always maintaining a back-stock.
Requirements:
Valid state licensure.
Previous dental experience.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment while following all safety protocols.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients through their treatment journey effectively.
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail in clinical tasks.
Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
