Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
Take and process X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance during treatments, including prosthodontics and endodontics procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, adhering to infection control protocols.
Assist with scheduling appointments and managing front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and coding.
Experience
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is an advantage.
