Job Description

Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, handling patient needs, and sanitization of instruments and materials. Assists and performs dental procedures under direct supervision.

Duties and responsibilities

Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist chairside with procedures

Take x-rays and review patient health history

Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and post exam instructions.

Document dental care services by charting in patient records.

Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols

Clinical tray set up

Sterilization of room, equipment and instruments

Fabricate temporary crowns and bridges

Maintain inventory of dental supplies

Work as part of an integrated care team

Uses popular software, including medical database, scheduling, and telemedicine software.

Follows all guidelines, regulations, and standards.

Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to perform the duties described above.

Licensed to work in California

Minimum of 1 year experience

Certification from dental assisting program required

Dental X-Ray Certification required

Coronal polishing certification

Secondary language a plus: Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese

Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds and

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to see to utilize a computer screen. The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; use hands and reach with hands and arms for activities such as typing, oral exams and surgeries, the employee is also required to talk and hear.
