Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience. Knowledge of dental software such as Dentrix, along with experience in orthodontics and pediatrics, is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where excellent communication and medical terminology skills are essential. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies for procedures
Assist the dentist during various dental treatments, including orthodontics and pediatrics cases
Take dental radiographs and Itero scans
Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix
Provide post-treatment instructions to patients and answer their questions professionally
Maintain patient comfort and ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when required
Educate patients on oral health care, including preventive practices and post-operative care
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant, with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology
Experience with dental software systems such as Epic, Dentrix, or similar platforms
Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and digital imaging is preferred
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a busy clinical environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care
Level 2 Certification in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory
