Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in our office.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, using software such as Opendental.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive dental practices.
Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area in compliance with health regulations.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, including handling any inquiries related to dental procedures.
Support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks as needed, including managing patient communications and billing inquiries.
Stay updated on medical terminology relevant to dental assisting.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with familiarity in crown and bridges, pediatric patients being a plus.
Proficiency in using dental software such as Opendental is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric dentistry settings.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
