Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist / Cross-Trained Dental Assistant is responsible for providing excellent patient service at the front desk while also supporting clinical operations as a dental assistant when needed. This dual-role position ensures smooth patient flow, efficient scheduling, and high-quality care support in a fast-paced dental practice.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Duties
Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage patient communications
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or payments
Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic/insurance information
Manage daily schedule to optimize provider productivity
Handle basic billing support and insurance follow-ups as needed
Ensure the reception area remains clean and organized
Dental Assistant Duties (Cross-Trained)
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
Take and process dental radiographs (if certified/allowed by state law)
Prepare materials such as impressions, trays, and restorative supplies
Provide chairside support, including suctioning and patient comfort
Review post-operative instructions with patients
Follow infection control and OSHA safety protocols
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a dental assisting program preferred or on-the-job training accepted
Current dental assistant certification or radiology certification (if required by state)
Prior front desk or customer service experience preferred
Familiarity with dental practice management software is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
