We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use following aseptic techniques.
Assist the dentist during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately documenting medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding details.
Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure a positive experience.
Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas adhere to OSHA standards for safety and cleanliness.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed to enhance patient flow.
Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
Educate patients on oral health care practices using clear dental terminology, fostering understanding of procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics.
Uphold confidentiality of medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while managing medical documentation efficiently.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing electronic health records effectively.
Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques; certification required where applicable.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during diverse treatments including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Skills in operating advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices are advantageous.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly while demonstrating professionalism in handling sensitive patient information.
