Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry treatments.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring adherence to dental x-ray safety standards.
Manage patient records accurately using patient management software like Oryx while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor vital signs and medical history documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding.
Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments following sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques; uphold infection control standards consistently.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Oryx for managing medical records and patient data.
Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, dental terminology, and clinical assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry.
Familiarity with 3D scanner utilization.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise.
Ability to accurately perform X-ray imaging and handle medical documentation with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
