Job Description
SmileCode Dental is looking for an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our growing team in a full-time leadership role.
This position is ideal for an experienced RDA who is ready to take on a leadership role beyond chairside assisting. As our Clinical Team Lead, you will help guide, mentor, and support our dental assistants while working alongside the doctors and management team to improve clinical systems, efficiency, patient experience, and overall practice success.
We are looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys coaching others, embraces accountability, and is passionate about building a positive, organized, and high-performing clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day support to our Registered Dental Assistants and clinical team.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
Help onboard, train, and coach new team members while supporting the continued development of existing staff.
Ensure clinical protocols, infection prevention, sterilization standards, and office policies are consistently followed.
Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, efficiency, organization, and patient experience.
Work closely with the doctors and management team to implement new systems and continuously improve clinic operations.
Assist with inventory management, operatory organization, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.
Lead by example through exceptional chairside assisting and patient care.
Support scheduling efficiency and clinical flow to help the practice operate smoothly each day.
Promote open communication and help resolve challenges professionally and constructively.
Encourage continuous learning, teamwork, and a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
6–10 years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant, with previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
Current Certified Registered Dental Assistant certification.
Strong clinical skills, including temporary crowns, rubber dam placement, and assisting with a wide variety of procedures.
Excellent knowledge of infection prevention and control, sterilization protocols, and clinical best practices.
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience with Dentrix is an asset.
