Registered Dental Assistant - Lead

Duties
Supervise and mentor dental assisting staff, promoting best practices in clinical procedures and patient management
Assist with routine and complex dental procedures including general and cosmetic dentistry
Ensure proper use, sterilization, and maintenance of dental equipment and instruments in accordance with infection prevention management policies
Prepare treatment rooms, manage dental supplies, and oversee dental instrument processing to maintain a sterile environment
Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as OpenDental or Eaglesoft; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality
Perform chairside assisting during various procedures, providing support with dental terminology, medical documentation, and clinical confidentiality policies
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care
Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient scheduling and treatment plans using patient management software like Epic or similar systems
Requirements
Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification in your region
Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on pediatric dentistry and oral surgery procedures
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and sterilization procedures
Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques and equipment operation including digital radiography systems
Experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining clinical excellence and high standards of patient care
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and medical documentation compliance
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring comfort and understanding during treatments
