Summer hours 9-4
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Record accurate medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments.
Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to protect patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, for managing medical records and documentation.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency and comfort.
Ability to operate dental equipment like X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices safely.
Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages and collaborating with the dental team effectively.
