Job Overview
Dental Assisting, Oral Surgery Assisting and Endodontic Assisting. Join our dynamic dental center where we provide multi-specialty dental care to military veterans and our military community. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management protocols
Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative, endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging equipment while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards
Manage patient management software such as Open Dental and Sidexis to schedule appointments, update medical records, and document treatment plans accurately
Record vital signs and medical history to ensure comprehensive patient assessments in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping
Requirements
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current state licensure or registration
Proven experience with dental assisting in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments
Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and dental instrument processing techniques
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental and Sidexis for efficient patient data management
Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral pathology
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when coordinating patient flow and managing appointments
Healthcare infection prevention expertise combined with a commitment to clinical confidentiality policies
Ability to work effectively in a team practicing four-handed dentistry and supporting other clinical staff
