Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring precise medical documentation and coding.
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance to promote ongoing wellness.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical records efficiently.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software platforms including Dentrix, Dexis, Vatech, Nexhealth for seamless record keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics and dental implant placement and orthodontics.
Ability to operate diagnostic equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices accurately.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Competence in taking X-rays and performing vital signs assessments with precision.
