Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Manage medical documentation and records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft including medical history updates and treatment notes.

Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status before procedures, especially in pediatric or medically complex cases.

Support front desk duties as needed by handling dental receptionist tasks like scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow efficiently.

Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical imaging to facilitate clear communication among team members and accurate recordkeeping.

Requirements
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in the applicable state or region.

Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry preferred.

Strong proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical documentation and records management is highly desirable.

Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety at all times.

Ability to perform dental radiography (X-ray) techniques accurately while adhering to safety standards for patients and staff.

Excellent understanding of dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, medical imaging, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices.

Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding processes, and the use of 3D scanners or other advanced imaging tools is a plus.
