Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments with precision
Take high-quality dental x-rays and digital medical imaging using advanced equipment like 3D scanners while adhering to radiation safety protocols and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, including medical documentation, coding, and updating medical records in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
Perform vital signs assessments and review medical history to ensure patient safety before treatments; communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide excellent patient care
Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment by following strict infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and dental instrument processing standards
Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with patient management software tasks, appointment scheduling, and answering patient inquiries when needed
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus
Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management and sterilization procedures within a healthcare environment
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and effectively; experience with oral surgery assistance or pediatric dentistry is advantageous
Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, patients, and team members
Certification in radiography or X-ray is required; additional certifications in Pediatric Dentistry or Prosthodontics are preferred
