Job Summary
Join our vibrant pediatric dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) dedicated to providing exceptional care to our young patients. Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, oral surgery, and restorative treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and process dental X-rays and 3D scans accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring precise documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout appointments to promote optimal patient care and safety.
Educate young patients and their families on oral hygiene practices, treatment procedures, and post-treatment care using clear dental terminology.
Support the front desk team by assisting with patient management software tasks, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a welcoming clinic environment.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a pediatric dentistry setting or general dentistry with pediatric exposure.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and dental instrument processing protocols.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental
Hands-on experience with dental X-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and infection control practices.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical confidentiality and infection prevention policies.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatrics enhances patient care delivery.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, dentists, and patients’ families.
