Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care in pediatric dentistry.
Proficiency with electronic dental software is essential to maintain accurate medical documentation and records. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where clinical excellence and patient comfort are prioritized.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Oryx.
confident in coronal polishing and sealant.
Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and assist with pediatric dentistry needs when applicable.
Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating dental coding for billing purposes, and assisting as a dental receptionist when needed.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA standards to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure.
Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatrics.
Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical documentation and records.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and vital signs measurement.
Experience with X-ray procedures.
Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
