Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support the seamless operation of our dental practice. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control. Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols
Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental sterilization procedures
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Open Dental and Denttio software
Monitor vital signs and medical imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records
Support the dental receptionist with patient management tasks such as appointment scheduling and check-in/out processes
Requirements
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure in accordance with state regulations
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery preferred
Proficiency with EMR systems like Open Dental; experience with patient management software is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental instruments, equipment, and infection control standards including aseptic technique
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment for four-handed dentistry practices
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about procedures and post-care instructions effectively
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices related to medical documentation and medical records management
