Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive measures, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments or sealants under the supervision of the dentist.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed, including sterilization of dental equipment and aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry settings, including pediatric dentistry when applicable.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation review and medical coding purposes.
Uphold patient confidentiality at all times while delivering compassionate and professional care.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
Massachusetts Registered Dental Hygienist License required
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is desirable.
Ability to operate dental equipment safely, including X-ray machines and other diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique.
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on education, reassurance, and building trust.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance management to ensure privacy standards are maintained across all interactions.
Competence in medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review for comprehensive patient assessment.
