Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene
Review and update medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials in good standing
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding procedures
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging techniques necessary for comprehensive patient assessment
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team
