Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting oral health and wellness. In this energetic position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education, ensuring each patient receives personalized, compassionate treatment. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants in four-handed dentistry to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
Review medical records for relevant health information and ensure compliance with medical coding standards for billing purposes.
Monitor patient vital signs throughout appointments to ensure safety during procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines and OSHA standards.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting is required.
Familiarity with EMR systems is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential.
Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient care including patient assessment and documentation review.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and basic medical coding enhances your effectiveness in this role.
