Position Summary
The Dental Hygienist plays a vital role in promoting oral health by providing preventive dental care, educating patients, and supporting the dentist in delivering exceptional clinical care. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planing as appropriate.
Take digital dental radiographs and intraoral images.
Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately.
Screen for periodontal disease, oral cancer, and other oral health conditions.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment recommendations.
Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental software.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and infection control protocols.
Assist the dentist with patient care and treatment planning as needed.
Help create a comfortable, positive experience for every patient.
Qualifications
Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records preferred.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
