Duties
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including evaluating patient medical history and vital signs to ensure safe and effective care.

Conduct professional cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term oral health.

Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) using appropriate aseptic techniques while maintaining strict infection control standards.

Assist with chairside procedures by providing support during general dentistry treatments and pediatric dentistry cases, ensuring patient comfort.

Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and seamless communication within the dental team.

Maintain infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines to safeguard patient and staff health.

Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.

Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.

Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus.

Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently to optimize patient flow and comfort.

Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.

Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for accurate record keeping.

Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
