Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices, excellent patient communication skills, and a passion for promoting optimal oral health. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in patient care, education, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety within our practice.
Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other preventive procedures to promote oral health.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR).
Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, oral hygiene practices, and preventive strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs.
Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing treatment rooms and managing dental equipment efficiently.
Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records.
Collaborate with the dental team to deliver comprehensive patient care using EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical coding.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments with an emphasis on patient care and education.
Expertise in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining safety standards.
Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
