Qualifications
Are registered and in good standin with the College of Dental Hygienists of Alberta
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent clinical and organizational skills
A genuine passion for patient care
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits
Assist in the application of sealants, fluoride treatments, and other preventive procedures
Review medical histories with patients, update records accurately using Akitu dental management software. Software training will be provided if necessary.

Support the dental team with assisting during procedures and managing patient flow efficiently
Communicate clearly with patients in multiple languages if additional skills are available to ensure understanding and comfort
Skills
Proficiency with digital dental software systems for scheduling, charting, and record keeping
Experience with digital scanning is an asset, training will be provided to the right candidate
Experience with guided biofilm therapy is an asset, we are committed to providing training and support for the right candidate
Knowledge of orthodontics procedures to assist with braces or aligners when needed
Experience working with pediatric patients to create a friendly, welcoming environment for children
Strong customer service skills to build rapport and ensure positive patient experiences
Ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Previous dental office experience is highly preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 30.0 per week
