Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a key member of our practice, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care in a professional and welcoming environment. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with infection prevention standards.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and accurate record keeping.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Support infection control procedures by adhering to healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques.
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and EHR management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental hygiene practice.
Familiarity with dental equipment operation, medical imaging techniques, and X-ray safety standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and oral health maintenance.
Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance management.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort and workflow efficiency.
