Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced medical imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documentation review, and electronic health records (EHR) management in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Ensure infection prevention management by adhering to strict infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for charting and record keeping
Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental equipment operation
Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical coding, and documentation review accurately
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment
