Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. The ideal candidate will bring over two years of clinical experience, demonstrating a passion for patient care, oral health education, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. As a key member of our practice, you will perform comprehensive dental cleanings, assist with patient assessments, and support the delivery of high-quality general dentistry services. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health.
Manage dental documentation accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Take and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies, providing appropriate response when necessary.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus, along with pediatrics-specific care skills.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review for accurate billing and record management.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
