Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to maintain healthy smiles.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment procedures, patient responses, and relevant medical information in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical records responsibly.
Qualifications
Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements.
Proven experience in dental office settings with a strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical coding.
Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices, including working with children in a pediatric dentistry environment.
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging procedures, and pediatric patient care best practices.
