Come join our close-knit dental family! Our well established, patient-oriented general dental practice is looking for a warm, welcoming Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)who genuinely loves making a difference in people's lives.
In this role, you’ll be the heart of our preventive care, using your expertise to help our patients achieve optimal oral health. We're all about creating a positive experience: you'll provide thorough, gentle cleanings and share valuable knowledge to help everyone maintain those healthy, confident smiles.
We believe that your friendly, energetic approach and keen eye for detail will help foster the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere where our patients feel truly at ease during their dental visit. We are deeply committed to supporting your journey and ensuring you have a rewarding, fulfilling career with us!
Our position is for Thursdays, 7:30 -4:30 (1 hr/pt and lunch from 11:30-12:30). (we can be flexible and accommodating if needed)
Duties
Patient Care and Assessment:Greet and prepare patients for examinations, review and update their medical and dental histories, and perform comprehensive oral health assessments, including oral cancer screenings and periodontal charting.
Clinical Procedures:Perform thorough dental cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling and root planing, and selective polishing using hand and ultrasonic instruments.
Preventive Treatments:Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to help protect teeth and arrest decay.
Radiography:Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (digital films) as prescribed by the dentist, adhering to all safety standards.
Patient Education:Educate and motivate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing, home care) and the relationship between diet and oral health.
Documentation and Administration:Accurately document all patient care, treatments, and observations in their records, and assist with managing patient recall systems and scheduling future appointments.
Collaboration and Safety:Collaborate effectively with the entire dental team to ensure a seamless workflow, manage supplies, and maintain a clean, sterile, and safe clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA protocols.
Qualifications
Current Ca licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
Current CPR certification.
Proficiency in using computer dental software and digital imaging technology.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and reassuring "bedside manner" to calm anxious patients.
Exceptional manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest dental hygiene best practices.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $58.00 - $65.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
