Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventive care
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth from decay
Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments, observations, and recommendations
Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently to uphold a safe clinical environment
Experience
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state or regional regulations
Proven experience in performing dental cleanings, radiography, and patient education
Strong knowledge of dental hygiene best practices, tools, and materials
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and motivate patients of all ages
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team
